Sir ed Danniye to Ehden – Diffcult! – 22.9 km (14 mi) with an total uphill of 1406m (4,612 ft)
Our trek to Karm El Mohr is a slow and gradual climb. The sweet scent of the bright yellow Andoul is everywhere. Several ruins are on our way. We pass bright green wheat fields that are in sharp contrast with the arid landscape. There is also very high winds! At certain times, I felt I was gonna get blown off the trail. Heading towards the highlands of Wadi Mgharat Al Hawa the winds become fierce. Up above, Padre points out the highest village in Lebanon, Souaqi at 1650m (5,413 ft). We all fill our water bottles from Ain Hawa (spring of wind). It comes from a 1km (3,280 ft) deep cave that is one of the deepest in Lebanon.

There is actually a smile somewhere underneath all the tired, I promise!
Along the way, we some beautiful lavender terraces no the way to Duraya which are in bloom. Its nice to see some color.

Our hike ends in the Horsh Ehden Reserve. Still a lot of snow on the ground which makes for very wet pants and socks.
Just a quick note on the blog, its sometimes hard to find the places I am going/staying at in Google maps due to different ways to translate Arabic names to English. I will try to post them when I can find them!
