My mother, sittu, uncles and aunts were born in Aitaneet. I took my wife and my three boys a few years back and the house where they were born still stands. My mother's name was Sofia Char Kaim and she was a School teacher. To our surprise we met the ex Mayor and he said he was my mother's student. It was thrilling specially for me to be in the city where my mother was born, my sons brought some flowers and earth from her house without my knowledge and once back home (USA) they asked to go to the cemetery and then spread the earth and placed the flowers on her tomb.

Hi Hana
Greetings from Sydney, Australia. I'm Helen Anderson's sister. So fascinated by what you are doing. You photos bring back so many memories, almost as good as being there, wish I was! Can't wait to read your book. Congrats on such a worthwhile endeavour, how wonderful if your trek is the seed for the 'peace trail'. Best wishes and happy trails! Jill
